The Veolia Transportation On Demand division wins permit from the Port Authority of NY & NJ for express bus service from JFK and LGA Airports to New York City and Weehawken New Jersey

Express bus service to be branded NYC Airporter® and will get a new fleet of HYBRID buses June 2011

New York (January17, 2011) Golden Touch Transportation of NY, a division of Veolia Transportation On Demand, was awarded a privileged permit by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey to provide interstate express bus services to and from New York airports and Manhattan, and Weehawken, New Jersey beginning January 1, 2011. The new service will be branded NYC Airporter™ “Your Express Ride to New York City.”

Veolia Transportation On Demand, through its division Golden Touch Transportation of NY, plans to improve the existing airport services when it takes delivery of a new fleet of HYBRID buses with leather seats, Wi-Fi, overhead and rear luggage storage and power strips for all passengers to use their laptops or charge phones while on their buses. Veolia expects to take delivery on the new fleet in June 2011. Both the current and new fleet is ADA accessible.

The NYC Airporter will operate between Manhattan and La Guardia (LGA) and JFK Airports and between Weehawken, NJ to Manhattan, JFK and LGA. Low fares starting at $12.75 one way and $22 round trip is a third less than the cost of a cab. There are multiple value pricing options for frequent travelers, airport and airline employees, as well as family discounts.

Data Dispatch / GPS

Golden Touch Transportation of NY has now incorporated their new DATA Dispatch and GPS (Ground Positioning System) in each and every one of their vehicles. This intricate, custom-made, system allows the NY headquarters to manage and control reservations regardless of their origin, whether they are internet based reservations, via telephone, fax, or via email. As soon as the reservations are input, the system takes care of the rest. The 24hr / 7 day a week office is able to dispatch vehicles according to current position. They locate the vehicles through the satellite GPS system and are able to dispatch the closest vehicle for the quickest pickup. This provides for many advantages such as minimizing wait time, saving the environment, and most important enabling them to tell their clients exactly where the vehicles are located at any given time. The new system is so detailed that it even permits GTT to tell clients what landmarks to look for in the vicinity of the vehicles for easy location. Of course that is just the tip of the iceberg for the client themselves taking the ride. For the industry partners it means much more than customer satisfaction. This custom-made system provides the precision of invoicing, speeding the process between the partnering companies, and facilitating business on both ends. 36 Seats of Heaven

COLLEGE POINT, NY - Golden Touch Transportation of NY introduces a brand new fleet of 36 passenger deluxe European style coaches, at a total investment cost of $8.6 million dollars. Currently four are in operation with additional deliveries scheduled in early spring of 2007. Golden Touch plans to attain one new bus a month for the next 32 months thereafter.
The Coaches are equipped with:

  • Special air ride suspension
  • A custom design forward facing interior with reclining seats, foot rests & seat belts
  • DVD player / microphone
  • Secured large capacity luggage storage bin below the vehicle
  • Custom designed GPS navigational dispatching system with all driver communication transmitted via error free dispatching data terminals.
  • Large picture windows

GTT is looking to go above and beyond the current standard of vehicles and even the transfers to and from NYC’s airports will be serviced with these coaches, whether it be for crew transfers, scheduled service, or ad-hoc group and incentive business. Golden Touch’s fleet also includes luxurious Lincoln Towne Car "L" series Sedans with an extended passenger seating, 11 passenger deluxe vans, custom made 32 passenger mini-coaches, which will be replaced by the 36 passenger coaches, and 49 passenger luxury coaches. GTT takes pride in knowing that the vehicles are the finest available. Equipped with GPS and navigational state-of-the-art technology, each vehicle can be located at any time, regardless of its position. Golden Touch Transportation is awarded the LAAMCO Busing Contract

Golden Touch Transportation was the successful bidder of the LaGuardia Airport Employee Bus Shuttle contract. The four-year contract calls for Golden Touch to provide scheduled bus shuttles to over 14,000 LaGuardia airport employees, on a daily basis, throughout LaGuardia Airport.

Golden Touch Transportation and Delta Air Lines

Golden Touch Transportation is proud to announce that they were once again awarded a three-year contract from Delta Air Lines. They will continue to provide ground transportation services at JFK International and LaGuardia Airports. The contract calls for ramp service for airline passengers arriving and departing on Delta's regional planes, as well as, an employee shuttle from the parking lots to Delta's terminals.

Golden Touch Transportation Goes to College

Columbia University

One of the top academic and research institutions in the world, Columbia University, has engaged the services of Golden Touch Transportation to provide Inter-Campus Shuttle Bus service to thousands of their university students and faculty. Columbia University has two principal campuses: one in the Morningside Heights eighborhood and the other modern Medical Center further uptown, in Washington Heights. It includes three undergraduate schools, thirteen graduate and professional schools, and a school of continuing education.

The shuttle bus picks up and discharges passengers at pre-determined locations every 15 minutes.

Travelocity customers will be able to make an on-line reservation for pre-arranged transportation and have a vehicle waiting for them at their destination upon their arrival.

The Antoinette Perry "Tony" Award is bestowed annually on theatre professionals for distinguished achievement. The Tony is one of the most coveted awards in the entertainment industry.

Golden Touch Transportation of NY Inc was awarded The Private Sector Buster of the Year 2002 Award from Gridlock Sam. Gridlock Sam can be found in the NY Daily News under City Life called Gridlock Sam.
The award was presented to Tom Herrschaft of Golden Touch for providing much needed bus service to Battery Park City post 9/11 to the present.

Long Island Jewish Medical Center has awarded Golden Touch Transportation of NY Inc. a contractto provide shuttle services for the Medical Center.
Long Island Jewish Medical Center shares the title of clinical and academic hub of the North Shore Long Island Jewish Health System. It is an 829 bed voluntary, non-profit tertiary care teaching hospital serving the greater metropolitan New York area, Queens and Long Island. The 48 acre campus is located in New Hyde Park, 15 miles east of Manhattan on the border of Queens and Nassau Counties.

Golden Touch Limo

During the past few months, Delta and ALPA performed a review of Golden Touch Limo, serving our New York markets. I am covering this, as it relates to our transportation problems in general, to help answer some questions, and to show the extra effort some companies, like Golden Touch, put forth to improve service.

During the Golden Touch review, we met with the owners of the company, the head of operations, the head of security, the head of maintenance and many of the important personnel at various key points in their operational network. All their vans, cars and buses are equipped with GPS, a communication computer, two-way radio, beeper with visual display and cell phone. The vehicles are tracked on a large map of the New York area, pinpointing the exact location of any vehicle at any time. Traffic monitoring programs continually evaluate routes back and forth from the airports to the hotels in the event of accidents, construction, or closures. All their drivers go through background checks, drug and alcohol testing and a drivers training course. All vehicles meet tight maintenance checks and all are replaced after three years.

Golden Touch uses various computer programs to track the actual arrival times of our aircraft allowing them to meet our every changing needs. They handle all major airlines flying into New York and set the standard for the industry.
