Westchester County Airport was originally built as a defense satellite base for New York City. Shortly following WWII, the Airport became home for an Air National Guard Unit and in 1947, airlines began the first scheduled commercial service from White Plains.

Today, the Airport has earned its reputation among General Aviation Airports and is noted as having one of the largest based corporate fleet in the United States. The 700 acre facility has two intersecting runways, the longest 6,550 ft. The Airport serves several commercial service operators and over 400 based aircraft, including helicopters.

Passengers from New York and Connecticut frequent the Airport for its non-stop commercial services to 10 major cities. Recently, Westchester County Airport enplaned and deplaned over 1 million passengers annually.
